Mayonnaise Helps Protect Women from Strokes, Says American Society for Clinical Nutrition
Mayonnaise, abbreviated as mayo,[1] is a stable emulsion of oil, egg yolk and either vinegar or lemon juice,[2] with many options for embellishment with other herbs and spices. Lecithin in the egg yolk is the emulsifier.[3] It is often cream in color, and may range in texture from that of light running cream to thick. In countries influenced by France, mustard is also a common ingredient, whereas in Spain it is made using the same ingredients, but specifically olive oil as the oil, and never with mustard. Numerous other sauces can be created from it with addition of various herbs, spices, and finely chopped pickles. Where mustard is used, it is also an emulsifier.[4][5]
Using the Iowa Women's Health Study, the researchers found that postmenopausal women who ingested significant amounts of vitamin E from food were less likely to die due to a stroke. The most concentrated vitamin E food source consumed by this sampling was mayonnaise.
"Overall, our results suggest that higher intakes of vitamin E from foods may be associated with a lower risk of death from stroke. Evidence for a protective role of vitamin E against death from stroke is supported by a plausible biologic mechanism and our observation of a strong, dose-response relation," the researchers wrote

SA2 新年团圆饭2011 (10th Feb)

GONG XI 恭喜恭喜GONG XI

新年团圆饭 SA2 Reunion Dinner:
KIMLY at Blk 147 Serangoon North Ave 1
MEETING @ 7.15PM **** DATE:10 FEB 2011

Chinese New Year, Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often inaccurately called "Lunar New Year", because—as part of the lunisolar Chinese calendar—the date is partially determined based on lunar phase. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends with Lantern Festival which is on the 15th day. Chinese New Year's Eve, a day where Chinese families gather for their annual reunion dinner, is known as chú xī (除夕). It literally means "Year-pass Eve".

Hope to see as many for this dinner~ lots to catch up with those who
have MIA for quite a while!

Teh tarik (literally "pulled tea" or 拉茶 in Mandarin) is a hot tea beverage which can be commonly found in restaurants, outdoor stalls and kopi tiams in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. Its name is derived from the pouring process of "pulling" the drink during preparation. It is made from black tea and condensed milk.

2011 Jan latest Starbucks
Prior versions of the logo helped build Starbucks into one of the world's best recognised brands, and the company felt it no longer needed to reinforce its name at every turn. The new wordless logo also is better suited to the company's expansion beyond coffee into a wider array of business lines and into more international markets.
